3M introduces bulk fill restorative with improved aesthetics

According to practice management experts, one of the leading reasons why patients will leave a dental practice is because they are rarely seen on time. Patient variables and other complications in a tightly packed schedule can quickly have a practice playing catch-up. 3M recognises the uncontrollable variables in a dentist's schedule, which is why 3M technologies focus on those areas that can be controlled - like using new 3M™ Filtek™ One Bulk Fill Restorative. When applied to posterior restorations, these technologies enable fast and easy one-step placement with improved aesthetics - delivering efficient clinical outcomes that help dentists stay on schedule.

"Bulk fill composites have become popular in recent years because of their simplicity and speed; however, the 'faster, easier' has often come at the expense of aesthetics," said Eric Wenzel, Global Business Leader for 3M Oral Care's Direct Restorative Business. "With the introduction of Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative, 3M is giving dental professionals that simple one-step placement without compromising aesthetics."

Designed for the posterior, the unique optical properties and improved opacity of Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative enable the simplicity of one-step bulk placement - up to 5mm - with improved aesthetics. These improvements are the result of further developments of 3M's nanotechnology, which allows for the management of opacity and depth of cure in a smarter way. With 3M's unique Smart Contrast Ratio Management technology, Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative features increased opacity without reducing depth of cure. Available in five shades, there is no need for layering or expensive dispensing devices.

Along with Filtek One Bulk Fill Restorative, 3M also offers adhesive, curing light, finishing and polishing and prevention products. These solutions are designed to work together to help dental professionals practice more efficiently and put time back in their days.
