A-dec dominates Townie awards - again

Awards and accolades

A-dec has once again dominated its categories in the annual "Townie" awards tabulated by Dental Town magazine from feedback from dentists in its home country of the United States. It was the 12th year in a row where A-dec has dominated the annual survey.

A-dec was awarded top supplier for Dental Delivery Systems, Patient Chairs, Dental Stools and Operatory lighting, with the result in the latter category no doubt buoyed by A-dec's innovative A-dec LED operatory light.

A-dec also won an Infection Control category for Dental Unit Water Line treatment with its innovative and convenient ICX™ tablets for treating self-contained dental water reservoirs.

A-dec Marketing Manager in Australia, Simon Taggart, said A-dec was the leading brand of dental equipment in the USA - a result mirrored to a large extent in other key international markets such as Australia. "In the Operatory Delivery Systems category which includes both chairside (cabinet-mounted) and over-the-patient delivery units, A-dec scored more than three times the votes of the nearest competing brand.

"It was a similar story in the Patient Chair categories with A-dec scoring 344 votes – well ahead of the next brand at just 127 votes. In contrast, one of the high profile competing brands also sold in Australia scored just 11 votes in the Patient Chair category."

Mr Taggart attributed the result to the reputation for quality and reliability of the A-dec brand and the extension to the A-dec product line with new model chairs such as the latest A-dec 300 and A-dec 400 and A-dec's wide range of flexible delivery systems.

"A-dec has continually evolved its product starting with the A-dec 500 to meet the emerging needs of dentists who want to build additional functionality on a proven dental unit and ergonomic chair platform.

"A-dec has been at the forefront of the trend of integrating ancillary equipment such as intraoral cameras, piezoelectric scalers and electronic touchpads to enable precise control of scalers, electric motors and endodontic files from the dental unit without sacrificing quality or reliability.

"The company has also constantly sought feedback from dentists worldwide in developing its product to keep pace with modern technological trends and most importantly, recognising the importance of good design such as its superior ergonomics and its impact on the working lives of the entire dental team," Mr Taggart said.
