A-dec unveils state-of-the-art Infection Control Centre

A-dec Australia has unveiled its state-of-the-art Infection Control Centre (ICC) which will be available in Australia in the first half of 2005.

The A-dec Preference ICC is a complete four-stage infection control solution from receiving and pre-cleaning through to sterilisation and storage of dental instruments.

According to A-dec Australia General Manager, Keith Mentiplay, the A-dec Infection Control Centre is designed to streamline workflow efficiency and ensure the highest hygiene standards in the modern dental clinic.

"The ICC follows a logical workflow designed around the established processes of sterilisation - creating a simple, clean and more efficient environment for dental staff.

"Its modular design supports all types of configurations making it a practical and attractive solution for the smallest to the largest dental clinics.

"Unique features include red and blue-lit sections - to intuitively separate clean and contaminated areas and assist in training staff - along with foot activated taps, doors, and draws, built-in glove and towel dispensers and a motion activated soap dispenser to reduce the risk of cross contamination," Mr Mentiplay said.

The ICC includes convenient under bench storage areas and overhead cupboards, enough bench-top space to accommodate all types of sterilisers, ultrasonic and other cleaning equipment and an inte-grated clock timer to assist with sterilisation procedures.

"Infection control is a critical area of dental treatment and the ICC greatly streamlines this process. This increases the efficiency of dental staff and makes the clinic more pleasant and rewarding to work in."

The A-dec PREFERENCE ICC is expected to be available through A-dec Australia dealers from June 2005, with pre-orders being accepted now.
