Acteon Group appoints new general manager for Australia and New Zealand

Dental industry veteran, Peter Green, has taken over the reins of the local arm of French-based Acteon Group as its new General Manager for Australia and New Zealand, with a mandate to take the business to the next level. Acteon's core products include ultrasonic scalers, tips and surgery units; imaging products including x-ray units, PSP scanners, CBCT units and intraoral cameras; and restorative and impression products like Expasyl.

"Acteon is looking to grow its presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets and my role is to facilitate that," Mr Green said. "I'm coming in with a fresh set of eyes but with a deep understanding of the local market and seeing what's possible. Nothing is off the table and I'm looking at every level of the business here to see where growth is possible.

"During my indoctrination process, the first thing that was immediately apparent was that there is tremendous potential to expand the product range we offer in Australia and New Zealand. The portfolio of products that we sell in other markets is considerable and will expand even further once some current acquisitions are finalised.

"So there is an immediate opportunity to bring in new products that will ultimately stimulate interest in our entire range."

Mr Green was most recently general manager of the KaVo Kerr Group in Australia and New Zealand and has worked with the gamut of dental distributors in both countries as well as developing direct relationships with thousands of dentists over a 25-year period.

"It's refreshing to join an organisation on the ascendancy like Acteon where there is so much potential. There is a strong base already. There is distribution in place already. There is marketing underway already. We have product specialists in place already. And there is education and training underway already. And yet there is great potential everywhere.

"My first days here have been spent understanding where we are now and understanding how it can be grown. How can we get our products into the hands of more clinicians in a way that they use them to their full potential.

"It is clear that the current activities are productive, they are working, but we just need to do more. Acteon products are premium products and it is vital that our customers and potential customers understand that premium means premium quality that deliver greater efficiency, greater productivity, greater longevity and in many cases, better patient outcomes.

"The next 12 months will be both about growing our relationships with customers with more education and communications and on the flip side, adding structure to the backend whereby when you order one of our products, you will have it immediately rather than sometimes needing to wait for stock to arrive.

"From my previous role, I know exactly how to grow premium brands and we will begin to implement strategies that leverage the strong base we have and tune it where required. Education and training are a key component, but equally, we have to give our customers the ability to be involved in the Acteon story.

"This is a great company that is evolving rapidly, acquiring new technologies and product ranges and we want to work with clinicians to ensure they have the best products in their hands to deliver optimal patient care."
