ADIA Qld Dental Show attracts crowds

Queensland's largest regular state-based dental event - the 2015 ADIA Queensland Dental Show - took place in a new venue at the Royal International Convention Centre, Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills on Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24.

The event combines a trade show where the latest products from Australia and overseas can be viewed alongside a comprehensive continuing professional development program.

Dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals took advantage of the opportunity to meet the leading local suppliers of products and services at this popular boutique event.

A-dec dealers from across the state and Melbourne displayed their innovative range of dental consumables, hygiene products and precision hand instruments, together with the award winning Acteon PSPIX "personal" phosphor plate unit which generated a great deal of interest.

Seen for the first time at any exhibition were two important additions to the world-leading range of dental equipment from A-dec, which showcased its brand new A-dec 500 dentist's and assistant's stools and innovative ergonomic foot control.

The A-dec 500 dental stool represents a quantum leap in the design of dentist's seating and is aimed at supporting correct posture while alleviating pressure points that restrict blood flow to the legs in other chair designs.

The key to the new A-dec 500 stool's design is the Dynamic Seating System, which features a flexible, body-contoured armature. Divided into four individual performance zones with different base support and cushion characteristics, the design allows good blood flow to the legs, while setting up the lower lumbar area for a proper, healthy torso posture all day long.

The matching assistant's stool has a completely redesigned flat torso rest to provide optimum support for assistants while working alongside patients.

Complementing the new stool range, the new A-dec lever foot control represents the next step in foot control design, allowing precise and easy speed modulation of both electric handpieces and air driven turbines.

The lever style allows the operator to switch between cutting wet or dry, without looking away from the mouth. Ergonomically, the lever design allows more operator weight transfer from seat to feet, enabling an athletic stance and "S" curvature of the spine for improved posture. As such, it is a perfect match for the new A-dec 500 stool.

Once the desired handpiece speed is reached, the operator can rest their foot flat on the floor and continue to work in a more relaxed state. The lever design means there is no stress on the leg or foot to maintain a constant speed - in much the same manner as a "cruise control".

The new A-dec 500 stool and foot control are available from A-dec dealers across Australia.
