ADX marks the spot: Melbourne dental expo takes shape

The upcoming Australian Dental Expo, or ADX, the new name for the major biennial exhibitions of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), is taking shape with 120 companies so far participating and 324 booth spaces allocated over an area of 10,000 square metres.


ADX Melbourne 2006 is being staged at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre from May 26-28, 2006 and some 4,500 visitors from all areas of the dental community are expected to attend.

"We have had a tremendous response so far to the ADX," said ADIA Executive Officer Duncan Campbell. "The bulk of our member companies are exhibiting as well as many other dental and ancillary organizations. We also have event organisers, associations and other interested parties participating. The idea overall is to provide visitors to ADX with a complete overview of dentistry today.

"The show does have a new name to help brand and identify our shows for the future, however everything visitors have enjoyed about ADIA exhibitions in the past will continue. Plus, we are working on new innovations to further enhance the experience of visiting a dental exhibition.

"The ADX is also a way of fostering good will, stronger relationships and better communication between everyone working in the dental community."

Visiting the 3-day ADX show is an ideal way to be rapidly educated on all the latest products and services available and meet the people promoting them first hand. In addition, it is often a chance to meet many of the technical and specialist representatives from dental companies in Australia and internationally and quiz them about their offerings.

"If you're considering a refit or renovation at your practice, then ADX is the perfect opportunity to see, touch, feel and purchase the gamut of dental products and equipment," Mr Campbell said. "You can also speak first hand to surgery design and fit-out companies to help make the dream a reality as well as specialist finance companies who can help ease the fiscal burden.

"In dentistry, the most precious commodity is time and organising a major purchase or purchases throughout the working day and trying to solicit information from multiple vendors is always a challenge. Blocking off a day or two for ADX means you can see everything under the one roof and focus your attention to the project at hand and accomplish much more in a shorter period of time."

Mr Campbell said often the quest for that one unique product that will solve a practice dilemma can be found at the show as well as complete alternate solutions.

"When you're considering a new or updated practice, the choices you make now are with you for years to come, so ADX ensures you are aware of all the options. The new look ADX is designed to make the trade show experience more enjoyable to the point where the only difficult thing to do is make a choice."

ADX is a professional trade show and is open to all member of the dental community. Free online registration is now available on the ADIA website located at www.adia.org.au. ADX is not open to the general public and registration in advance is encouraged to avoid delays.

In addition, as a reward for early registration,

there are a number of prizes to be won. Each day, visitors who have registered online and are present at ADX will go in the draw to win two of Bottles of Penfolds Grange Hermitage, two digital cameras and two Apple iPods.

ADX Melbourne 2006 is being run concurrently with the ADAVB's biennial convention.
