Hot Topics in the Tropics, the 6th biennial International Symposium on Aesthetic Dentistry, is again on the horizon and for 2012, it will be held at The Sebel Cairns in Far North Queensland from September 19-22, 2012. The popular event has so far been staged in Bali, Hamilton Island, Darwin, Port Douglas and Queenstown (as White Hot Topics).
Sponsored by Ivoclar Vivadent, Hot Topics in the Tropics brings together a comprehensive 3-day program designed to broaden your treatment options and improve your capability to provide the best functional and aesthetic dental restorations. If you have not been to one of these events before, both the educational side and the accompanying social programme are second to none.
Featuring some of the world's finest dental professionals, this conference will provide you with the latest insights into materials, techniques and trends available to create optimal aesthetic outcomes.
With the increasing demand for highly aesthetic implant-supported dentures, this year the event will also cater for dental prosthetists in a parallel lecture and workshop stream. The symbiotic relationship between dentist and technician can also never be overstated. Throughout the conference, the team-based perspective is considered as the ideal route towards the best possible outcome, leading to a satisfied patient and customer.
Speakers for the event again comprise a mix of local and international experts.
Dr Christian Coachman from Brazil is a world-renowned international lecturer in cosmetic dentistry, oral aesthetic rehabilitation, dental ceramics and implants. As well as a talented dentist, Dr Coachman was head ceramist at Team Atlanta's laboratory and founder of the Insight Group, Ceramic Training Centre and a member of the Brazilian Academy and Society of Aesthetic Dentistry.
Also presenting is Jurgen Seger, Ivoclar Vivadent's Technical Trainer and Manager, ICDE from Liechtenstein together with several clinicians from Australia and New Zealand (see above).
The conference starts on Wednesday afternoon with lectures from the two international keynote speakers, followed by an opening cocktail party in the evening.
Thursday is a full lecture day in the ball room and will feature a parallel lecture programme in other rooms for technicians.
On Friday, delegates are free to explore the best tropical North Queensland has to offer. Visit the reef, the rainforest, Port Douglas, go fishing, play a round of golf or simply relax.
Day 3, Saturday, includes dedicated workshops across multiple streams, followed by the farewell Gala Dinner.
The relaxed format of the symposium and the tropical location allows for significant time to liaise and discuss tips and cases with the entire lecture team over dinners, drinks and activities.
Auxiliary staff are also warmly invited and there are many tips and tricks that the entire team can learn at the lectures and hands-on workshops. Auxiliary staff even attract a subsidised rate which provides the opportunity for the team to learn high-end aesthetics whilst enjoying all that the conference and Cairns has to offer.
A partner program is also on offer for those who may wish to attend with their families. A reduced rate allows spouses to join delegates in the cocktail parties and gala dinners that are part of this conference. Many choose to stay on after the conference to enjoy the tropical ambience that Cairns in September has to offer. School holidays for most states commence the week following the event.
18 CPD points are available for this symposium and it's a fabulous chance to learn from great international speakers whilst enjoying this tropical paradise.
