Congress and Exhibition not to be missed

For the first time, the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) have joined forces to organise the 31st Australian Dental Congress and Exhibition in Adelaide in March 2005.

"In the past, both our organizations have essentially operated independently," said Mr Phil Jolly, the new chairman of the ADIA's Exhibition Committee. "The ADA would organise the congress and we would organise the exhibition that was held at the same time. For the Adelaide event, however, we are trialling the concept of both our organizations actively partnering to promote all aspects of the event and at the end of the day, share in its success."

Mr Jolly said that the ADIA had so far signed up over 100 exhibitors for the exhibition who have taken 285 booth spaces for a total of 8000 square metres. Numbers were expected to grow further in coming months.

"This will be the only major dental exhibition in Australia in 2005 and it will be of a similar size to the traditional large shows in Sydney and Melbourne. It is an ideal opportunity to come along and see the latest and greatest new products and services while also being able to participate in a first class education program right next door.

"The exhibition is in a brand new, very modern venue overlooking the river and the congress programme is in the building next door. All meals and the evening happy hour will be served in the exhibition venue and the latter will include the best of South Australian beer and wine to go with the theme of the congress."

Mr Jolly stressed that there was something for everyone at the event and dental technicians and prosthetists in particular, could expect to find plenty to interest them at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open from Friday, 4 March to Sunday 6 March, 2005. Opening hours are 9am to 7.30pm on Friday; 9am to 6pm on Saturday; and 9am to 2pm on Sunday. Congress participants will be able to enter the exhibition free of charge and there will be a nominal registration fee of $25 to visit the exhibition only for the three days. A package deal for a dentist and three staff members is available for $60.

"The 31st Australian Dental Congress and Exhibition will literally offer something for everyone in the dental community," Mr Jolly said, "and I cannot encourage everyone enough to come along and take advantage of the excellent programme that has been organised. Adelaide itself also offers plenty to see and do before, during and after the event and all in all, it is an ideal way to kick off the New Year."
