CS 3500 intraoral scanner wins 2015 Edison Award

The CS 3500 intraoral scanner by Carestream Dental has been awarded a bronze 2015 Edison Award in the category of Dental 3D Printers and Services by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™. The distinguished award, inspired by Thomas Edison's persistence and inventiveness, recognizes innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.

The CS 3500 allows practitioners to easily acquire true colour 2D and 3D images. Requiring no external heater or trolley system, the CS 3500 features high-angulation scanning of up to 45 degrees and to a depth from -2 to +13mm. Additionally, the CS 3500 uses open-format STL files for easy sharing and can be plugged directly into a computer's USB - making it truly portable. The scanner offers workflows for restorative dentistry, orthodontics and implantology.

The CS 3500 also featured among the top products for 2014 in Dentistry Today's 28th Annual Top 100 Products issue.

Edison Award nominees are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from across the nation whose votes acknowledge the CS 3500's success in meeting the award's stringent criteria of quality.
