Dental Axess continues to lead the way in educating the dental industry in the evolving era of digital dentistry. The annual Digital Evolution conference was yet again a success for the Dental Axess customer group with over 100 laboratory owners, dental technicians and clinicians from Australia and New Zealand attending.
The two-day program held at Pier One, Sydney was organised to provide dental laboratories and clinicians with knowledge and the opportunity to discuss the latest industry trends and developments with local and international experts in the field of CAD/CAM, as well as an opportunity to interact with colleagues.
Due to the diversity of the customer base, the program was designed with keynote presentations as well as a number of breakout sessions tailored to allow for a customised learning experience. Among the highlights of the program was the launch and in-depth insight into the 3Shape Dental System 2015 where delegates had the opportunity to learn about the new features and applications of the software. Dental System 2015 focuses strongly on optimised design workflows and improved usability while providing new digital solutions that significantly increase the levels of productivity for the dental laboratory. 3Shape also highlighted their latest product portfolio including the lighter, smaller and faster TRIOS 3, the industry leading intraoral scanner.
Dr Philip Tan presented True Digital Design using 3Shape RealView followed by an in-depth workshop together with laboratory owner Mr Lachlan Thompson. This session provided an insight into the possibility to create photo-realistic visualizations of patient cases by bringing together the patient's face and teeth designed in 3D.
Other workshops included a demonstration of Ortho Analyser and Appliance Designer by Mr Ari Scarica. This interactive presentation provided participants with comprehensive information and a step by step "how-to" recipe on orthodontic applications such as treatment planning, incorporating DICOM data, aligners and indirect bonding.
International speakers and representatives provided the latest information on CAM software development, 3D printing technology, milling solutions, new materials and the latest in sintering furnaces. Delegates also had the opportunity to interact with international leaders in the field of CAD/CAM dentistry and related materials and products.
Dental Axess will continue to build on a successful program for their customers along with the support from industry leaders. New technology is being developed constantly, together with new materials and workflows highlighting the need for ongoing education. Overall feedback from delegates was overwhelmingly positive. "Our customers are at the forefront of digital technology and our objective is to ensure they remain one step ahead and well-positioned to reap the rewards of digital workflows," said Dental Axess Director Belinda Muggleton.
