Dental Education Centre open

The new Dental Education Centre (DEC), located near Sydney Airport, has opened its doors and is accepting bookings for seminars and events. The Centre has been designed specifically to support the ever-growing number of dental education events in complete comfort with the latest equipment and at low cost.

"Too many events are staged in hotel conference rooms with their uncomfortable chairs, poor personal security and no dental facilities," said Carl Burroughs of Integrated Dental Marketing who will be managing and marketing the Centre. "The DEC has been designed with the delegate's total comfort, security and enjoyment in mind."

The centre has been logically designed over three levels, with the main auditorium being located on the ground floor. The first floor boasts two fully operational A-Dec 500 chairs for hands-on events and a large lab area for training, trade displays and public internet stations for those who do not bring their own laptops. The top floor is dedicated to relaxation with a cocktail lounge, large balcony, kitchen, bar and dining tables.

Mr Burroughs said there had been no skimping on creature comforts with each delegate getting a comfy leather executive chair, their own workstation fitted with internet access and power point plus a storage area for briefcases or bags to be stowed.

"The audio visual equipment is absolutely state of the art with duel overhead projectors, video streaming technology, a robotic intelligent camera that tracks the every move of a speaker and all this controlled by a single touch screen pad."

Mr Burroughs said the Centre has been made possible with the help of very generous sponsors, including A-Dec, Critical Dental, SmileCard, NAOL and IDM.

"The DEC is designed to be very versatile and accessible to all," Mr Burroughs said. "We will have a range of conference packages available and we will also be able to deliver an 'Event in a Box' solution, including mailing, telemarketing, brochure design and printing, with every event appearing in Australasian Dental Practice, the Dentevents website, the IDM Dental Seminars website and the Centre's own website."
