Digital dentistry is the near future

CAD/CAM Digital Dentistry

"I have seen the future and the future is digital!" says Georges Sara, fresh from the launch of his own Australian developed Verus CAD/CAM system onto the US market at the Chicago Mid-winter dental meeting in February.

"At every turn at that show you can see how the dream of digital dentistry is fast becoming real with a range of new products that will continue to revolutionise the way we work," he said.

"We were very proud to have our Australian-developed product on sale there to ostensibly a world audience. We received a lot of interest and sold the first batch of scanners to laboratories across the States.

"Technicians can see the versatility in the system and in a short time from our launch less than 18 months ago, we have introduced a complete portfolio of solutions with more innovation to follow."

Mr Sara sad that the latest additions to the Bio-Infinitum "menu" included full anatomical crowns and bridges in zirconia or plastic; the ability to scan multiple units and design them in the one process and send to manufacture; the ability to scan veneers and have them manufactured in zirconia; and the ability to scan full waxed-up crowns and bridges and do computer aided reduction for full, even ceramic support. Products in Titanium are also about to be launched.

"In Australia, we have a growing following for our products and we've opened our training centre at Homebush and already staged the first program.

"Technicians have very inquiring minds; we can see the importance of CAD/CAM as a key component of our future and we want to know as much information as possible.

"In that regard, we offer the unique ability to train at an industrialised milling centre and be instructed by the inventors of the system. It provides a unique insight into what is possible with CAD/CAM and you quickly learn that the sky literally is the limit! Regardless of how you do it, digital dentistry is here so don't be left behind."
