E4D launch lends a helping hand

Henry Schein Halas has launched the new E4D chairside CAD/CAM system in spectacular style at IMAX theatres in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The evening commenced with guests experiencing the Deep Sea 3D Imax Adventure starring Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet and after a range of presentations, concluded with the completion of an interesting clinical case.

Leading up to the launch, Henry Schein Halas worked with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen Foundation", which operates the "Fifteen" restaurants in Melbourne supporting disadvantaged adolescents in trainee chef programmes, to treat one of the participants with chronic dental problems.

"We realized the immediate results that E4D can bring to a patient and in conjunction with a group of Australian practitioners, we approached Jamie's foundation to make a difference," said Rebecca Sail, Henry Schein Halas High Tech Sales Manager.

A young participant in the project committed to turning his life around presented with dentition in desperate need of attention.

The treatment plan was developed by a team of local dentists comprising Drs Michael Ho, Emanuel Platanoitis, Phillip Tan and Andrew Wood and to date has involved endodontics, crowns and veneers.

The full anterior rehabilitation was completed at the Imax cinema by Dr Ho.

"This was a very worthwhile way to showcase the capabilities of E4D," Ms Sail said. "and our thanks go to all the clinicians who donated their time to make it happen. We hope to be able to continue to expand our relationship with Fifteen in the future."
