Gordon Anderson new GM at HSR

Henry Schein Regional (HSR) has appointed Gordon Anderson as its new General Manager. Mr Anderson was previously the CEO of Halas Dental Limited prior to accepting the position with HSR.

"We have obviously been fierce competitors in the marketplace for a number of years," said Mr Maurie Stang, joint Managing Director of Henry Schein Regional, "but at the end of the day, we have a shared vision for the future of the dental industry in Australasia. When we got down to it, we had a meeting of the minds."

Mr Stang said that the company had been seeking a General Manager and Mr Anderson's experience in running Halas made him a natural choice.

"It is our goal to make our customers even more successful and we have a number of new initiatives that we are planning to implement. We want to continue to supply our customers with dental products and equipment but we want to grow the relationship to provide assistance at every level. Gordon has considerable experience in the logistics of dental supply and he is in sync with the goals of Henry Schein in Australia and internationally."

Mr Stang said that as the world's largest and only global dental products retailer, Henry Schein is uniquely positioned to assist dentists at every level.

"I am delighted to join Team Schein. My new role with Henry Schein Regional will present a number of opportunities which I am looking forward to," Mr Anderson said. "Part of my role is to combine the best initiatives Henry Schein has developed internationally with our own tailor-made Australasian ones which will be of great benefit to all our customers and ultimately make them more successful."

Mr Andrew Hoggard, formerly Managing Director of Shalfoon Dental, the New Zealand arm of Halas, who migrated to Australia six months ago to fill the newly created position of Operations Manager, has assumed the role of Acting General Manager at Halas.
