Heraeus Kulzer celebrates 20 years in Australia

Celebrations and milestones

Heraeus Kulzer is celebrating its 20th year in Australia with a move to new premises, riding on the success of several new products released in the last six months which include a new composite, the first 7th generation bonding system, a polyether impression material and a range of premium denture teeth.

"It's a very exciting time for Heraeus Kulzer Australia," said managing director Ken McInnes. "We are growing strongly at present and are investing with the move to new premises so we can better service our clients. One of our key objectives is to have zero back orders and the new premises will provide the infrastructure to help us achieve this goal."

Heraeus Kulzer is a global leader in dentistry and dental laboratory products. The company manufactures filling and impression materials, fissure sealants, desensitisers, dentine bonding agents, temporisation materials, light-curing units, dental stones and cements, implants, anaesthetic syringes and needles and Agfa-Dentus radiographic films.

Product for dental technicians encompasses bio-alloys, gold casting alloys, porcelain-bonding alloys and universal alloys, attachments, galvanoforming and model-casting systems, ceramics, polyglass and composites for veneers, inlays, crowns and bridges, denture teeth and denture base materials, waxes and stones.

Heraeus Kulzer´s customers are served by a global network. The company operates from 24 locations throughout Europe, the USA, the Americas, Asia, and Australia. Research and development are conducted at six of these locations, while ten are production centers.

Heraeus Kulzer, which was formed when Heraeus acquired Kulzer Dental and later Bayer Dental, includes well known brand names such as Artglass, Durafill, Charisma, Flexitime, Gluma, Venus, iBond, P2 and Agfa.

"Heraeus Kulzer globally has a turnover of some Euro 1.5 billion with 1600 employees," Mr McInnes said, "making it one of the largest dental manufacturers in the world. We are slowly increasing the profile of the company in Australia based on quality products and outstanding service.

"There are a number of advantages in dealing direct with the manufacturer," Mr McInnes said. "And the most significant of these is high quality products at a reasonable price."
