i-CAT now available on Macquarie Street

Sydney radiographer, Diana Richards of Dental Imaging on Macquarie Street in Sydney, has also recently installed an i-CAT system.

"There is a growing need for volumetric imaging in dentistry and in particular implant dentistry," Ms Richards said. "The 3-D images produced by the i-CAT are ideal for use with implant planning software so we decided to invest in the technology.

"I had been following cone beam imaging systems for some time and the i-CAT delivers in terms of image quality and system reliability. The scans it provides give a better level of information at a much lower radiation dose than a traditional CT so it's a real win-win.

Ms Richards said that after the Medicare rebate, patients were left with a gap payment of around $140.
