Awards and accolades

The Dental Advisor, America's independent test institute, has endorsed the high degree of quality and dependability of the iBOND adhesive range from Heraeus by rating two products with distinction in their 2012 evaluations.


The all-in-one adhesive iBOND Self Etch was awarded the top result of 5+ winning the "Editors' Choice" Award. Also awarded was Heraeus' iBOND Total Etch which was judged the prestigious "Top 5th Generation Bonding Agent" for 2012 and was additionally included in the list of "Preferred Products 2012".

iBOND Self Etch is a 7th generation, light-curing, self-conditioning, single-component adhesive, which etches, primes, bonds and desensitises in a single step. It combines a high adhesive strength and optimum edge quality with a simplified, fast and user-friendly application. An improved dropper allows precise dispensing and prevents the bottle from clogging. iBOND Self Etch is suitable for attaching direct light-cured composite materials, indirect restorations in combination with a light-cured luting composite and for the treatment of hypersensitive dental regions. For the purposes of the Dental Advisor Product Awards, iBOND Self Etch was tested in 648 applications and achieved a clinical rating of 96%. Eighty-one per cent of dentists would change to iBOND Self Etch and 96% would recommend the product.

The light-cured Etch & Rinse 2-step adhesive, iBOND Total Etch, is the new 5th generation bonding system from Heraeus. Following the etching process, it is applied in just one layer, which does not need to be agitated. The iBOND Total Etch system, based on nano-fillers, achieves a perfect border seal and high adhesion co efficiency on enamel and dentine and, in addition, is ideally suitable for desensitising hypersensitive areas. iBOND Total Etch is indicated for attaching direct composite restorations, indirect laboratory fabricated restorations and for the treatment of hypersensitive dental regions. In a total of 647 assessed cases, a clinical rating of ninety-four per cent was achieved. Seventy-eight per cent of the trial participants indicated that they would use iBOND Total Etch themselves in the future; 96% would recommend it to colleagues.
