The winner of the inaugural AGFA photographic competition organised by Heraeus Kulzer Australia is Kathryn Lynch of Lynch Dental Practice on Sydney's Northern Beaches (pictured).
The subject was "Summer", and with an overwhelming response, competition was fierce.
"Heraeus would like to thank all those who entered and selecting just one winner was difficult," said Paul Millist, Business Development Manager - Dentistry at Heraeus Kulzer Australia. "Kathryn's prize is to have her winning entry enlarged and framed to hang in the Surgery."
Ms Lynch has only been taking her photography seriously for about 18 months. Starting with others' hand-me-down cameras taking photos in her garden, she has progressed to landscapes; a highlight was having a photo of a storm off Newport Beach featured on Tim Bailey's Channel 10 weather report.
Ms Lynch has recently completed an evening photography course at Manly Warringah Community College where her teacher noted that she had a natural eye for photography. She is still amazed at people's reactions to her work, believing that everyone can take a great photo. She is now working with software developers to produce slideshows for use in dental surgeries!
The next Agfa photo competition runs from April to June with the theme of Autumn.
