Ivoclar Vivadent launched its new range of dental equipment at the recent ADX10 dental exhibition in Sydney. The company will now offer Australian dentists a full suite of dental equipment with Italian-made Stern Weber dental units and MyRay x-ray products complimenting their existing German range of Dürr compressors, suction units and digital radiography systems.
"After 27 years of supplying Australian dentists with all their equipment needs, we were still constantly receiving inquiries for dental units, x-rays and ancillary equipment," said Phil Jolly, Managing Director of Ivoclar Vivadent Australia. "So after a short absence from this segment of the market, we felt it was only fitting that we should replace lost agencies with new products that are needed to service our clients.
"Exclusive access to the Stern Weber and MyRay range of products will allow us to provide our customers with 12 different treatment centre modules as well as intra oral, panoramic and cone beam X-Ray systems. We also will have equipment to augment this range in the form of intra oral scanners, cameras and autoclaves.
"We examined half a dozen agencies in our quest for a new partnership. With Stern Weber and MyRay we found a dynamic dental equipment company who were able to tick all the boxes for us and who wanted us to represent them in Australia. The product portfolio offered is exclusive, of great quality and with a large research and designing department provides equipment that dentists need. The service offered in the form of planning, designing and spare parts is exceptional: therefore the choice to align ourselves was an easy one."
Ivoclar Vivadent is in the process of rebuilding the infrastructure necessary to support the equipment business. Product management, purchasing and technical services are already in place as the first tier and a new showroom in Sydney at 25 Cleg Street Artarmon has been established. The company is also in the process of installing equipment in showrooms in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
"We currently have sales people for the equipment sector on the eastern board of Australia which is where our initial focus will be," Mr Jolly said. "The product was launched at ADX10 and we will have separate state launches of the new agencies Australia-wide."
Mr Jolly said that the technical service of the new products will be ably supported by their own accredited technical staff who trained at the factory in Imola, Italy. A training régime for independent service technicians looking is also available.
"The main objective of reentering the equipment market on a large scale is to provide quality equipment and service to the profession. Demand for these types of products together with the customer service and after sales support that we are renowned for has continued unabated so it was a logical step for us to return to supplying the complete needs of our customers.
