Magazine promotes Australia to the world

Australia has gone on display to the world at IDS 2005 in Germany, both as part of the inaugural Australian Pavilion and in a magazine published especially for the show.

"After we came up with the concept of setting up an Australian Pavilion at the world's largest dental show, the question was what role would we play," said Joseph Allbeury, publisher of Australasian Dental Practice. "We decided to publish a 16-page magazine especially for the show that could be given out to visitors passing the Pavilion.

"The idea was to both assist the Australian companies exhibiting at IDS to further promote themselves and also to encourage dentists to participate in education programmes in Australia or to consider Australia as a destination for staging a programme in the future."

20,000 copies of the full colour magazine were produced and distributed at the show. The publication included information on Australia as a tourist destination, dentistry in Australia, the TGA's role in certifying the quality of products manufactured in Australia and the role of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA).

"It was a great experience to be shoulder to shoulder with many other Australian companies experiencing the thrill of exhibiting at IDS for the first time," Mr Allbeury said. "I would personally like to thank Duncan Campbell from the ADIA who played a pivotal role in coordinating every aspect of the Pavilion and also the ADIA Board who threw their support behind the project from its inception.
