New CEO appointed at BOQ Specialist

BOQ has announced Dr Brett Robinson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of its BOQ Specialist business. A qualified medical professional who also has many years of experience in financial services, Dr Robinson joins BOQ Specialist from Icon Cancer Care where he was Managing Director and CEO from 2011.

Mr Brendan White, Group Executive of BOQ Business, said Dr Robinson offered a unique blend of skills and experience that will enable him to lead BOQ Specialist through its next phase of development.

"I'm delighted Brett has agreed to become CEO of BOQ Specialist. Brett is a qualified medical professional, has had a successful career in medicine and financial services and has developed extensive networks throughout his professional and international rugby career," Mr White said.

"Brett is well recognised as an outstanding leader and, given his background, fully understands the needs of clients in the health and professional services sector and already has a clear vision of the future growth opportunities for BOQ Specialist."

Dr Robinson succeeds former head of the business Barry Lanesman and co-founder Andre Karney, who recently announced plans to transition to consultancy roles from October 2015 and Mr White acknowledged their significant contribution.

"Over the last 10 years Barry and Andre have built an exceptional business supported by outstanding people and a great culture. I am confident Brett will work closely with Barry, Andre and the senior executive team to ensure a smooth management transition thereby providing continuity to our business, our people and our clients."

Dr Robinson will start his new role on 15 November 2015 and will be part of Mr White's leadership team.

BOQ Specialist provides tailored financial services to core specialist niches including medical professionals such as doctors, dentists and vets, as well as finance professionals such as accountants and financial advisers.
