New Dental Aesthetics Meeting in Asia set for Singapore - September 2018

Events

The Aesthetic Dentistry Society, Singapore (ADSS) will organise the first Dental Aesthetics Meeting in Asia (DAMA) in Singapore from 28-29 September 2018. Focusing on advances in the arts and science of aesthetic dentistry, the congress will feature a conference headlined by leading international practitioners and researchers and an exhibition showcasing the latest in advanced materials, equipment and technology.

"To improve patient care and aesthetic outcomes, it is imperative that dentists continually hone their skills by learning from the best within the field and by staying up to date with the latest developments in dental technology," said Dr Asha Karunakaran, President, Aesthetic Dentistry Society, Singapore. "With DAMA, dentists in the Asia Pacific will have a central platform, where we can come together and meet face-to-face to discuss the latest trends in aesthetic dentistry."

"In its premiere edition, DAMA will differentiate itself from other events in the region," said Dr Jeffrey Seow, Chairperson, Dental Aesthetics Meeting in Asia 2018. "It will not only focus on the science, but also take a closer look at the dentist's role in the patient's journey to achieving the perfect smile. How can we better explain treatment recommendations to patients? What tools are available to operators to visualise treatment plans and educate patients on various procedures? How can provider and patient align expectations? How does implementing these tools affect the running of the clinic? These are just some of the questions we will cover at the conference and exhibition."

The inaugural edition of DAMA will be held in conjunction with the Asian Congress of Aesthetic Dentistry (ACAD), organised by the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (AAAD).

"We're excited to return to Singapore for our biennial ACAD event," said Dr Ronnie Yap, President, Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. "Having it coincide with the first edition of DAMA is a great development for the dental aesthetics industry in Asia. Singapore is a modern and vibrant city and, as a central business hub in the region, it is easily accessible for all our regional members. It is an ideal city to hold one of our congresses in."

About the Aesthetic Dentistry Society, Singapore

The ADSS (Aesthetic Dentistry Society, Singapore) is a group of like-minded dentists who seek to promote the understanding, practice and appreciation of procedures and materials that can be used to improve the appearance of their patients. The ADSS organizes regular meetings, lectures and symposiums to enhance the awareness of Aesthetic Dentistry in Singapore.

About the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry

The Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (AAAD) was founded in 1989 by the member countries of Japan, Korea and Singapore. Its membership numbers have since grown to more than 10 Asian country members. AAAD strives to continue its mission to popularise and advance the science and practice of aesthetic dentistry in Asia. The key to improvement of standards lies in continual learning and education at the highest level. With stronger collaboration with dental associations and societies, we have a strong pipeline of co-joint meetings with our institutional and country members, such as the 15th Asian Congress of Aesthetic Dentistry (ACAD).

The Dental Aesthetics Meeting in Asia will take place from 28-29 September 2018 and is open for collaboration with exhibitors and sponsors.
