W&H has released an updated version of its convenient EB-300 ENTRAN cordless endodontic motor. The update supports new recommendations from endo file manufacturers of speeds up to 600 rpm for NiTi files used in rotary root canal preparation.
Entran is packed with features including a powerful and long lasting lithium ion battery, small head size, safety features and superior ergonomics. Being cordless, the Entran provides complete freedom of movement, precise control of the file and superior access to the oral cavity.
The streamlined Entran is ergonomically optimised (weighing just 120 grams), meaning less strain on the hand, reduced working height when using files with shortened shanks and the head is freely rotatable through 360°.
Despite its compact size, the W&H ENTRAN has advanced yet simple-to-use automatic torque settings, providing a choice of auto reverse, to release the file then stop; or auto reverse then forward once the desired torque level has been reached.
The long-lasting lithium-ion rechargeable battery lasts at least 20 treatments with a fully charged battery. A full treatment can be completed once the low light battery illuminates.
Torque control
Entran reliably maintains torque values and reacts immediately once the programmed torque is reached. It has five programmable torque settings of 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.5/4 Ncm, which are set simply by pressing a button, with the selected Torque displayed using LEDs on the unit.
As an added feature, the control LED ring illuminates once 75% of the torque has been reached. The inbuilt electronics ensure Entran maintains a constant speed (typically 300 rpm or 600 rpm at the file consistent with Niti file manufacturers' latest recommendations).
