Specialist dental laser supplier, Laser & Digital Australasia, has joined forces with Henry Schein International to launch a new joint venture known as Protec.
"We are very proud to announce the formation of Protec and very excited," said Protec director Saul Freedman. "This new venture allows us to combine the expertise of our dedicated team in dental lasers and other high technology products with the strength and infrastructure of Henry Schein International.
"Having the backing of the world's largest dental retailer allows us to compete on a much larger scale.
"Protec will continue to represent the superb HOYA ConBio range of lasers," Mr Freedman said, "and we have added to this the DEXIS Digital X-ray, DigitalDoc intraoral cameras and Beyond Corporation Accelerated tooth whitening systems. All of these products satisfy our three key criteria: technology, affordability and reliability.
"Together with my fellow director, Leslie Schneider in Perth, we are also pleased to announce the recent appointments of Paul Baltas as area manager for both Victoria and South Australia, Tony Tomevski as area manager for New South Wales and ACT and Shabbir Sirajuddin in technical support.
"This past weekend, we conducted a laser dentistry training course in Melbourne for a group of dentists who have bought our Hoya ConBio lasers and from the feedback we've had, it was superb on all counts. We all gained valuable knowledge and insights from Professor Laurence Walsh who conducted the course."
Mr Freedman said the same group of dentists will depart this month to attend further training at the Las Vegas Institute, Nevada, USA.
