Philips has unveiled the revolutionary new Philips Sonicare AirFloss, an easy and effective way to clean in-between your teeth. With its breakthrough microburst technology, the Sonicare AirFloss is specially designed to overcome the issues commonly associated with flossing to make cleaning in between teeth as easy as possible, while maximising plaque removal and ultimately improving your gum health.
While we are reminded of the importance of flossing during every dental visit, recent research conducted by Philips found that 25 per cent of Australians never floss and a staggering 43 per cent floss only a couple of times per year or not at all. When asked why they don't floss regularly, over 40 per cent of people stated it was too much hassle and almost 30 per cent said they don't know how to floss correctly.
The AirFloss has been shown to remove up to 99 per cent more plaque in-between teeth than brushing with a manual toothbrush alone, and during consumer testing, 86 per cent of users found Sonicare AirFloss easier to use than string floss.
AirFloss's breakthrough technology works via rapid bursts of air and water droplets to thoroughly fill up the areas between teeth; dislodging hard to remove food and forcing plaque and bacteria out. This rapid burst is directed using an innovative nozzle guidance tip that ensures targeted cleaning between teeth, while the one-button operation means users can clean their entire mouth in less than a minute. The AirFloss uses just one teaspoon of water for two full cleaning sessions, with the added advantage of a 2-week rechargeable battery life.
The AirFloss also features an ergonomically designed handle and angled nozzle to access all areas of the mouth and its cordless, rechargeable handle fits on the same charger as the Sonicare FlexCare+.
"We understand that many people find flossing quite difficult, and as such they don't include it as part of their regular oral health routine," said Simon Keenan, Customer Marketing Manager ANZ, Philips Oral Healthcare. "The Sonicare AirFloss has been developed to improve oral health by offering people an easy-to-use device that they use every day and will complement the existing Philips range of Sonicare power toothbrushes."
