New version 11 of Dental 4 Windows

Australian software developer Centaur Software has launched version 11 of its highly successful Dental 4 Windows practice management software and with it a range of new features and enhancements.

"With version 11 of Dental 4 Windows, we are building on our strong market knowledge and expertise to deliver the best solutions and services to all segments of the dental market," said Centaur Software Commercial Director Michael Sokol. "Our company continues investing heavily into research and development to expand and diversify our product portfolio and the recent development and successful introduction of the HL7 communication protocol is another example of this.

"According to the latest ADA survey, more practices use Dental 4 Windows than any other practice management program and we have achieved that Number 1 position by successfully delivering world class, reliable and easy to use software solutions to our wide range of customers. We currently deliver solutions to private practices, large corporate groups and enterprise level customers such as universities and hospitals.

"I would also contribute much of the continued success of Dental 4 Windows to the enormous confidence fellow dentists and practice managers have in the knowledge that Dental 4 Windows was originally designed by a dentist. Dr Frank Papadopoulos, who continues to work part-time in his own suburban practice, remains head of product design at Centaur Software with a number of his team also active in practice management. These factors continue to help keep the product development, functional enhancements and workflow of the system up to date and relevant."

The new Dental 4 Windows version 11 incorporates a new Imaging and Multimedia module, a new Document Manager module plus many other system enhancements designed to further increase the popularity and take up of the product.

"As new services like SMS messaging, X-Ray Imaging Software interfaces, EFTPOS, HICAPS, TAPI integration with telephone systems, PDA device links with Appointment Books, Medicare on-line integration have all become available, dentists look for practice management systems that not only can deliver these services and solutions, but also guarantee 100% reliability and provide top quality support.

"We are seeing that the practice management software market in Australia has reached a very mature stage and the majority of practices are running some type of software as an aid to their business and/or clinical management. As a result, a reasonable percentage of our sales are to users of competitor products and in the last financial year, we converted over 60 practices to Dental 4 Windows.

"This is both a tribute to the usability of Dental 4 Windows as a whole but also shows that many practices want more from their software. Continual development and innovation is an expensive and technically demanding process and unless you have a critical mass of practices using your software, it becomes difficult to compete. As an example, the imminent release of the new version of HICAPS will test the abilities of many software developers as it is an incredibly complex interface to integrate.

"At Centaur Software, we have proven time and time again that we are committed totally to supporting and focusing on the needs of Australian dentists by providing timely product enhancements to Dental 4 Windows when required.

"As a result, dentists in Australia are increasingly relying on Centaur Software technology and industry leadership to deliver the next generation of solutions to help achieve improvements in patient services and practice processes, business intelligence reporting, business efficiency and integration as well as cost savings throughout their practices."
