Nobel Biocare has postponed the Australian leg of the 2008 World Tour that was due to take place on October 16-18 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
"In reviewing the needs of our customers and how we can provide greater value to them and the dental profession, we've decided to postpone the World Tour event for 2008," said Mike Covey, Nobel Biocare Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Covey said that Nobel Biocare has, in the past, taken a global approach to staging its large-scale international educational events but for the future these events will now feature more bespoke programs, to increase the benefits for participating dental professionals.
"We are adapting our approach to better cater for established markets such as a Australia and New Zealand as opposed to emerging markets such as many regions of Asia. The last World Conference we held in Las Vegas in 2007 catered to the needs of all our customers. Moving forward, however, we feel that returning to the very popular and highly successful Team Days in a more intimate environment is much better suited to the needs of our Australian and New Zealand customers.
"We are now working on the first of these special events to be held in 2009 where we will be able to showcase the most advanced dental solutions from Nobel Biocare and present a program with an even stronger focus on science and innovation. We believe that by postponing the World Tour and incorporating new elements into the existing program, we can provide our customers and partners with much greater value," he said.
