Nobel Biocare has released the preliminary program for its Scientific Symposium to be held at the Hilton Hotel Sydney on May 15-16, 2009.
Under the banner of Sustainable Oral Rehabilitation: Integrated - Interdisciplinary - Technology Today, the event will offer the latest in scientific research and clinical techniques from many of the world’s foremost researchers and clinicians in the disciplines of osseointegration and restorative dentistry.
“The Nobel Biocare Scientific Symposium is an event tailored to the specific needs of our customers,” said Mike Covey, Nobel Biocare Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand. “The program has been carefully structured to appeal to all members of the dental rehabilitation team from surgeons and restorative dentists to technicians, auxiliaries and support staff.”
Nobel Biocare has moved away from its model for the past six years of staging a biennial World Conference in Las Vegas - the last of which in 2007 attracted 10,000+ attendees - to specific events tailored to individual markets similar to the highly successful Team Days from years gone by.
The program for the Symposium was compiled in conjunction with the
Scientific Program Committee comprising Dr Patrick Henry (Chairman), Prof. Iven Klineberg, Prof. Mark Bartold, Dr Brent Allen and Dr Michael Danesh-Meyer.
The morning of the initial day will feature a single stream of presentations and a panel discussion. The afternoon of Day 1 and the morning of Day 2 will offer multiple streams including, at various times - Surgical; Technology; Aesthetics; Auxiliary; Hygiene and a special program looking at 20 years experience with osseointegration.
Day 2 will conclude with a panel discussion around the Management of Ailing and Failing Implant Cases including pre- and post-operative complications; managing prosthetic complications; and managing the medically compromised patient.
