NSK's new Australian headquarters in the Sydney suburb of Rosebery is testament to the success of one of Japan's premium handpiece brands in Australia.
A decade after establishing a direct presence here and under the tutelage of Managing Director, Phil Fitzgibbon, NSK has increased its market share through a combination of price/performance, broader distribution and factory-backed service and support.
"Opening our new Sydney headquarters is an exciting moment for NSK Oceania," Mr Fitzgibbon said. "We now have the ideal facility that we need to continue to expand our business and support our customers to the highest level. Our new premises is around three times larger than before and has been designed to meet our current and future requirements."
NSK employs 15 people in Australia and its new headquarters incorporates a showroom, conference and training rooms to seat 50 people, a service and repair area, large warehouse and administrative offices.
"One of the key areas we wanted to expand upon was our service and repair department, "Mr Fitzgibbon said. "We have now been able to build a large centre with the latest tools and factory-certified testing equipment to fix any NSK product, from handpieces to implant motors.
"We have three fulltime service technicians and carry a full catalogue of spare parts at all times so we offer premium, direct factory support for all our products with a fast turnaround.
"Our larger warehouse also allows us to keep a full stock of all NSK products at all times. We have 20 distributors across Australia and New Zealand who we supply, so our aim is for there to never be any product on backorder. As soon as you order through your distributor, if they don't have stock, then we will have it to them the next day.
"Our customers can also visit our new showroom and experience our full range of products first hand."
Mr Fitzgibbon said that globally, NSK was expanding its focus on education and training. The company will soon open an expansive new training academy at its global headquarters in Japan. The new Sydney headquarters also reflects this philosophy.
"We have also included a training and conference room where we can conduct education sessions for our customers," Mr Fitzgibbon said. "The popularity of our SurgicPro and VarioSurg surgery units, for example, will only increase if we can offer our customers specialised training in the use of these systems. Our customers and dealers are also welcome to use these facilities to run their own training sessions.
"We hope to have a variety of training programs on offer in 2017 and hope to welcome as many of our customers to participate as we can.
"Our new facility is designed to help us provide even better service to our customers for the next decade and beyond."
NSK Oceania's new headquarters is now located at Unit 12, 809-821 Botany Road, Rosebery NSW 2018.
