Oral-B honoured by Children's Hospital

Oral-B has been honoured with the prestigious Award of Benefactor by the The Children's Hospital at Westmead in Sydney for their support of the Paediatric Dentistry Department for more than a decade.

"Oral-B have been very generous financially and with oral care product donations for many, many years," said Richard Widmer, Associate Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at the Hospital. "They provide a financial donation towards the running of the Department that contributes to the general running costs and helps us buy new and up-to-date equipment that we otherwise would have trouble funding.

"Oral-B also assists us in other ways. They've recently helped renovate the Paediatric Dentistry reception area of the clinic and they also helped us to introduce a photo wall which we are starting to fill with Polaroids of our patients. The latter is very popular with the special needs kids as they're very visual. They like to see themselves in the environment and that helps them feel more comfortable."

Associate Professor Widmer said the Clinic at the Children's Hospital at Westmead uses Oral-B brushes and mouth rinses kindly provided by the company. Oral-B also provide gift packs for new mothers at the Hospital containing children's brushes and toothpaste, plus an assortment of products from parent company, Proctor & Gamble.

The award was presented by Children's Hospital at Westmead CEO Antonio Penna at a ceremony held at Bear Cottage, the first hospice in NSW where children with terminal illnesses and their families can stay from time to time and receive rest and medical care in a homelike environment.

Oral-B Professional Relations Manager, Simon Antoniou and Oral-B Professional Representative Leanne Batley, who works closely with the Hospital, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
