Osteon Medical, one of Australia's leading providers of comprehensive CAD/CAM implant solutions, have now broadened their product range with the release of Bi-axial single implant abutments.
The Bi-axial technology is a uniquely designed and patented precision-manufactured implant restoration, with the unique ability to redirect screw access channels by up to 30 degrees (Figure 1). Angled screw channels allow for optimal positioning of the implant frameworks to be produced without the need for expensive abutments, making it both financially and aesthetically more attractive.
"The introduction of the Bi-axial range in single units is an important and welcome addition to our existing product offerings," said Osteon Medical Director, Mr Michael Tuckman. "Osteon is committed to providing customers with solutions and services that bring increased simplicity and efficiency to patient specific solutions. The Bi-axial range of products is another step in that direction.
"This product introduction streamlines the internal procedures for laboratories, providing an efficient and cost-effective solution by eliminating the use of conventional custom abutments. It also simplifies and reduces insertion time for clinicians, without compromise."
The Bi-axial implant abutments are currently available in Titanium and Cobalt Chrome (suitable for porcelain bonding) and biocompatible translucent Zirconia in 3 shades (Figure 3).
The Bi-axial range of products boast a precision fit and are produced in accordance with the latest CAD/CAM milling technology. All products are made in Australia and backed by a comprehensive lifetime warranty for Titanium and Cobalt Chrome and five years for Zirconia. In addition, if an implant supplier does not honour their warranty due to the use of an Osteon precision-milled product, Osteon Medical will cover the warranty for both their abutment or bridge and the implant placed.
The all new Bi-axial Implant Abutments from Osteon Medical are available for most major implant platforms including external and internal connection implants from Astratech/Dentsply Implants; Ankylos; Biomet 3i; Bio Horizons; MIS; Nobel Biocare; Neoss; Osstem; Southern; Straumann; Swiss Plus and Zimmer.
