Schick Technologies, DMT form Partnership

Schick Technologies has named Dental Medical Technologies International as its exclusive Australian and New Zealand agent for its line of sophisticated dental imaging products.

David Taylor, Schick Technologies' worldwide director of marketing, said: "Having worked with DMT in past ventures, I am familiar with the both the quality of their people and the fine service they provide their customers. We are pleased to be working with such a fine organisation and anticipate a long and mutually beneficial partnership."

Schick Technologies designs, develops and manufactures digital radiographic imaging systems and devices for dental and medical markets, including the CDR system and accuDEXA, an in-office, instant bone mineral density assessment system. The company's products are based on proprietary digital imaging technologies.

Meanwhile, to coincide with the new arrangement, DMT has released a new generation of Schick Technologies' active pixel sensors and software.

Peter Mackley of DMT said some of the new Schick software includes AutoTake, CDR Mail, CDR Pan and a report and printing suite linked to Microsoft Word.

"AutoTake enables the user to take any number of x-rays, even a full mouth series, without having to return to the computer to save images or to acquire further images," Mr Mackley said. "This new feature offers a new level of ease when taking x-rays.

"CDR Mail allows both intra-oral camera and x-ray images to be directly emailed to specialists, colleagues and patients. This is a new feature from Schick which integrates directly with Microsoft Outlook, Netscape and Eudora.

"Schick now provides a direct interface to Microsoft Word for the creation and printing of reports. Now you can automatically combine all your images in any report format. The combination of intra-oral camera and x-ray images will provide you with an excellent tool to assist with patient education and internal marketing.

"CDR Pan is another new release from Schick. CDR Pan is a complete electronic imaging system that integrates with panoramic x-ray machines, to acquire, display, store and print digital x-rays. The CDR Pan can be fitted to both left-to-right and right-to-left rotating panoramic x-ray machines, drum and cassette-type film assembles."
