Servanti System suffers a minor setback

The enterprising group of WA dental professionals who have invented a wireless foot pedal to control up to six separate dental devices, which all typically have individual foot pedals, has suffered at the hands of Telstra who allocated their pre-booked 1300 number to another company.

"Despite this setback, we are receiving a lot of interest in the device," said Paul Taylor, one of the system's inventors. "We now have distributors in all states and demand for the pedals is increasing daily. We received 20 orders from Perth alone in the first week we started to promote the device."

The patent pending Servanti System will work with any product that uses a foot pedal to turn the equipment on or off. Typical products would include air abrasion, intra oral cameras, curing lights, scalers, etc. The new invention does not replace the foot pedal of the dental unit, however most other products can be wired into the Servanti System's control box, which communicates wirelessly with the cordless foot pedal.

The third component of the system is a display panel that indicates which piece of equipment has been selected.
