In support of its Galileos cone beam imaging platform, Sirona has released a new software tool to aid in the preparation of radiographic reports. Version 1.0 of Sirona's new "Reporter" software was launched at IDS 2009 in March and is now available.
Reporter works with Galileos cone beam scans and allows you to easily select and set a series of two-dimensional "views" from the myriad data a 3D scan produces, add descriptions to these views and store the findings as "bookmarks" within the 3D scan. Automatically generated findings-based reports can then be quickly created as a hard-copy (film or A4 laser jet) or a digital file" (PDF format).
Reporter is designed with radiographic practices in mind to provide a fast and efficient method of generating reports for referring practitioners. Reporter can generate reports in less than a minute.
The speed of the software is possible as Galileos automatically determines the correct views required using an intelligent templating system which are then utilised by Reporter to rapidly produce its findings. The templates can be modified so that individualised reports can be generated.
Reporter allows findings to be put directly into the scan and they can be stored and used as bookmarks so that findings are easily found later. This function saves time and directly links the findings to the exposure.
Reporter is also an ideal patient communication tool designed to ease a patient's understanding of the Galileos scan results.
