The ultimate lecture and hands-on program

Dental Ed and Dental Events are offering dentists and technicians a rare opportunity to participate in a limited attendance 4-day hands-on workshop and lecture program in Melbourne in October.


Predictable Aesthetics and Longevity with Bonded Porcelain Restorations will be presented by brothers Pascal Magne, DMD, PhD and Michel Magne, CDT. The 2-day lecture component open to a wide audience will be held on October 16- 17 and provide a once only opportunity to hear in Australia the world's indisputable masters of the adhesive ceramic restoration.

The limited participation hands-on course will follow on Octoiber 18-19 and allow participants to be further taught and then to practice the techniques learnt in the 2-day lecture. Limited to 25 places, the small group will allow for personal interaction with the lecturers where you may also discuss cases, techniques and issues relevant to your practice. All course materials, equipment and instruments will be provided.

This advanced course is designed for general practitioners, prosthodontists and dental technologists who desire to improve the well-being of their patients by providing the most advanced and most conservative treatment options in aesthetic dentistry.

Dr Pascal Magne is Associate Professor and Director of Esthetic Dentistry at the University fo Southern California School of Dentistry. Dr Magne obtained his postgraduate education in prosthodontic and operative dentistry from the University of Geneva and was awarded with major grants by the Swiss Science Foundation, the Swiss Foundation for Medical-Biological Grants and the International Association for Dental Research. He also spent two years as a full-time research scholar in Biomaterials and Biomechanics at the University of Minnesota between 1997 and 1999. He received his PdD in 2002. Dr Magne is the author of the best selling Quintessence text book Bonded Porcelain Restorations.

Michel Magne was certified in Neuchâtel as a dental technician in 1979 and kept developing his technical education in fixed prosthodontics (ceramics) and aesthetics until 1984. Between 1985 and 1991, he was consecutively directing two dental laboratories as a master ceramist, specialising in implant-supported work and complex oral rehabilitation. Since 1992, he has been the owner and director of Oral Design Center, a dental laborayory in Montreux, Switzerland. He was recently invited to be the first Associate Professor and Director of Dental Technology at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry.
