Think pink! New Comp Natur gingival-shaded compomer restorative

Comp Natur from VOCO is a pinkshaded compomer-based restorative system. It uses the self-etch bond Futurabond NR to bond to the preparation. With the help of opaquers (white, lightpink, dark-pink), the shade of the gingiva can be matched. The pink-translucent restorative is then applied, shaped and light-cured.

Often called "the invitation to think differently", this system allows creative direct minimally invasive approaches which so far have been limited to laboratory- made prosthetics. As the case of the twin tooth illustrates, the modelling of a papillary triangle from Comp Natur allowed a direct and cost-effective treatment instead of a canine-to-canine bridge.

A frequent application are those cases in which traditionally dentists have been looking for a restorative darker than A5: cavities on dark roots and/or exposed crown rims. Instead of desperately trying to match a relatively dark surface, simply restore the illusion of a straight gingival line in pink.

"You do not need this kit often, but whenever you need it, you need it right away," said Dr Hannelore Oberschachtsiek from the University of Erlangen, Germany. "Therefore, every surgery should have it."

As an added advantage, Comp Natur has a shelf life of 3 years.
