TrollDental celebrates 25 years

Often affectionately referred to as "The Troll People", TrollDental is proudly celebrating 25 years in Australia.

From very modest beginnings as a part-time endeavour in the garage of Swedish dentist Hans Ravik in November 1981 in Armidale in NSW's New England region, TrollDental has grown into a well-known and respected dental products company.

TrollDental remains a family business, employing four family members - Hans Ravik (Managing Director), his wife Audrey Ravik (Company Secretary) and their children Rachael Rose (Marketing Manager) and Joshua Rose (Logistics Manager). Audrey and Hans' son, Markus Ravik, is also employed on a casual basis as a graphic artist and photographer.

In addition, there are two important team members - Rose Robinson (Customer Services Manager) and new addition Helena Maughan (Marketing Assistant) who complete the Team Troll.

TrollDental (then Trollplast) relocated to Alstonville on the NSW far north coast in 1987, well before anyone had heard the expression 'sea change'. TrollDental's brand new office and warehouse is located on the outskirts of Alstonville.

TrollDental is perhaps still best known for the original product - TrollMounts - the dental x-ray mounting cards, currently preserving x-rays in thousands of surgeries across the country.

Over the years, the company has added many new 'Troll' brand products to their range such as the TrollBags and TrollBytes for digital sensors and TrollBrush applicator tips. The latest edition to their catalogue are Troll Instruments - a range of hand instruments with titanium coated working ends.

Continuing to supply only the best quality innovative products for dentists and for the oral health of Australians, the majority of products are developed and manufactured in Sweden - renowned for superior quality in workmanship and design.

TrollDental also represents TePe Oral Hygiene products in Australia - a market leader in specialist oral hygiene products, and have also branched into supplying the pharmacy industry due to customer demand. TrollDental also offer several other well known high quality brands such as Carisolv, Dentatus and LM Instruments.
