Australian digital dentistry manufacturer, Truline Dental, has rebranded itself as FABDENT to help differentiate its clear aligner based Truline IOS (Invisible Orthodontic System) from its expanding portfolio of other digitally-manufactured appliances, prosthetics and restorations.
"In the beginning, it made a lot of sense to name the business after our flagship product, however, with the release of a full portfolio of products, it has led to confusion," said Terence Whitty, founder of FABDENT and the Truline IOS. "Hence we have rebranded to a more generic name for the business so our brands, the real heroes of what we do, are clearly differentiated."
Mr Whitty said that since the launch of the Truline IOS, the product range offered has expanded to include Digisplint™ sure fit digitally manufactured splints, Implaguide™ surgical implant drill guides, Click™ subscription retainers, i-expander™ arch expanders and EMA™ digitally manufactuered sleep appliances.
"FABDENT is a fully digital laboratory where we use banks of 3D Printers and Milling Machines to produce a full range of appliances as well as crown and bridge.
"Traditionally, we have scanned the models and impressions sent to us by our dentist clients and then completed the design and manufacture digitally. However, now we are seeing the number of dentists using intraoral scanners increasing.
"We want to be able to offer those practitioners using intraoral scanners a range of options to get the most from these systems. While, most of the focus to date in this area has been on crown and bridge work, we have taken a different tack. We typically start working with new clients who wants aligners, splints, drill guides or retainers with crown and bridge secondary.
"The world of digital dentistry is growing and FABDENT is well positioned to offer practitioners a full range of products and services that offer never before seen levels of accuracy of fit and quality of manufacture, all at a very attractive price point."
