The ADIA Victorian Dental Show continues to prove its value to dental professionals with a high level of visitor support at the most recent event held over June 17-18.
Held in conjunction with the state convention convened by the Australian Dental Association (Victorian Branch), the trade exhibition at the Melbourne Convention Centre puts leading local suppliers of quality products and services in touch with Victorian dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals.
It was an ideal opportunity for dental professionals to take time out from their schedule to attend the ADA Convention sessions and also see what is new and exciting in dental products and services at the free exhibition.
This year's exhibition was well-supported by leading names in the dental equipment industry and suppliers of related products and services from consumables to instruments, software and finance.
Leading dental equipment manufacturers, A-dec and W&H together with local A-dec equipment dealers, Alldent and Medident, were among regular exhibitors participating in the trade show.
Alldent General Manager, Naomi Thomason, said the Alldent stand was kept busy during the two-day show with enquiries for a large range of equipment from the latest digital imaging solutions from Acteon, which produces a convenient compact phosphor plate scanner system, to Suecos® brand footwear designed to reduce fatigue among dental professionals.
Alldent is also a leading supplier and service agent for A-dec equipment and W&H instruments and sterilisation solutions and has equipped many of Victoria's best dental practices.
A-dec was also kept busy with enquiries for the latest A-dec dental equipment, including the latest A-dec 300 with its new armrest design and A-dec's revolutionary new A-dec 500 dental and assistant's stools.
The A-dec 300 is a popular treatment unit, which features excellent ergonomics with a compact footprint providing optimum comfort for both the patient and operator.
The A-dec 500 dentist and assistant's stools meanwhile have redesigned the traditional dental stool from the bottom up, with a dynamic seating system which helps maintain a healthy S-shape of the spine.
The seat base features a flexible armature base and three layers of flexible cushioning arranged in individual performance zones providing advanced support without restricting blood flow to the legs.
The stool has been designed to avoid poor work posture, which is a major contributor to potentially debilitating musculoskeletal conditions and fatigue.
W&H was also on hand with its range of high quality dental handpieces, together with the W&H Implantmed surgical and implant drive unit which helps automate and control common procedures with a series of built-in functions.
W&H also demonstrated its innovative Assistina 3x3 handpiece maintenance system, which is the only unit in the world to provide a verified process for cleaning handpieces inside and out and lubricating handpieces with the optimum amount of lubricant each and every time.
W&H Territory Manager, Australia and NZ, Chris Jobson and Asia Pacific Area Manager Martin Rolfe, were on hand to detail W&H's leading range of compact and powerful turbines and electric handpieces, which are also extremely quiet in operation.
Also on display was the latest W&H Synea "Vision" handpiece which utilises 5 mini LED's arranged in a ring pattern around the handpiece bur to provide shadowless illumination of the treatment area - another first from W&H which pioneered the use of LED lighting in dental handpieces.
