VOCO GmbH has inaugurated its prestigious new company HQ with integrated training centre and a modern R&D laboratory complex in Cuxhaven, Germany. VOCO's development from a small family business to a global player is continuing steadily and its new flagship facility will act as a focal point for its international workforce and clientele.
As a research-based dental company, VOCO's corporate philosophy and formula
for success stands for reliable quality and the latest technology. The company is proud
of its trusted reputation globally and all its products continue to be made in Germany. 670 "dentalists" - a term the company coined for its workforce - worldwide currently choose to work for VOCO with 330 employed in Germany and a further 340 dental consultants around the world.
The company first constructed purpose-built premises at its Cuxhaven manufacturing base in northern Germany in 1992, a decade after VOCO was established. Further extensions were completed in 1997 and 2005. Now, management of the owner-operated company has once again invested heavily in the future, with the total cost of the third extension project in excess of ten million euros.
Training rooms
and R&D laboratories
The latest extension includes two new buildings - a three-storey main building with a total effective floor area of 2,700 square metres to house exclusive conference and training rooms, offices and a canteen; and a second building with a large 2,200 square metre complex containing state-of-the-art R&D laboratories and office space over two floors. These new additions expand VOCO's facilities to over 22,000 square metres in area.
"It was important that the new R&D/laboratory building reflect the value we place on research and development as the heart of VOCO," said Managing Director Manfred Thomas Plaumann, who is responsible for R&D as well as production.
Combining comfort and functionality, the new main building is an eye-catching part of the complex. Every year, the global presence of VOCO attracts numerous customers, including dentists and dental medical wholesalers from all continents, to the North Sea coast. Whether they are groups of visitors, participants in courses or members of the field team arriving at VOCO HQ for training, everyone is now greeted with conference rooms equipped with the best technology, an inviting cafeteria and dental
simulation workstations.
In addition, VOCO offers the ideal conditions for staff to combine work and family life with a company childcare service opened its doors in September.
