Australian dentists, therapists, hygienists and dental assistants are required for volunteer work in India, where many people do not have access to everyday health services that most Australians take for granted.
Australian not-for-profit organisation, Equal Health, provides free multi-disciplinary medical health services to people in developing countries who would generally not have access to such services. Working with Australian health professional volunteers and Indian partner agencies, Equal Health brings relief from dental pain, sight to the blind, freedom of movement for people with disabilities and improved health through providing free multi-disciplinary health care such as dentistry, optometry, allied health and general medical. Equal Health is currently recruiting volunteers for the India 2011 Camp on 4 to 20 February 2011 inclusive. Opportunities for short-term meaningful and life changing travel experiences are now available for dental professionals who wish to volunteer their skills and services, to provide access to dental health care for people in need in India. Placements are based in various locations in India including Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and require a $3,500 tax deductible donation. For an application pack email Dr Simon Shanahan at info@equalhealth.org.au. Positions are limited and are filled on a first come first served basis.
