World first Surgitel touch-free headlight

New Products

SurgiTel's new Eclipse LED is the result of their ongoing intensive R&D program -its lightweight IR-sensor (patent pending) turns the headlight on and off with the wave of a hand. Several attempts to create touch-free headlights have come before but have eventuated in halfway solutions that include push switches, or pressure sensitive switches which all need touching. Every time a glove or hand touches a switch or button, there is a risk of cross contamination.

The Eclipse LED provides an aseptic solution and is truly touch free. Once the chosen intensity is set, the clinician turns on the headlight once, puts on their gloves and can work the rest of the day by turning their headlight on and off with the wave of a hand, avoiding the risk of cross contamination.

The "Eclipse" versions of the popular Micro and Mini portable LED headlights offer all the same features as the standard headlights but with touch free control. They provide a high-quality, uniform beam thanks to patent pending True Beam™ technology and a tighter, more focussed beam which is very uniform and exhibits no colour change over the range of the depth of field of the loupes in use. Finally, the latest generation of Lithium Ion Quick-Charge batteries provide up to 9 hours of continuous power.
