Development of online advertsOnline adverts are much smaller in size than adverts in our magazines. And whereas print advertisements often communicate detailed information about a product, online ads are typically only trying to accomplish one thing... and that's a "click" from your mouse. That click can link to far more information, images and interaction than can ever be communicated in a print advertisment, but you have to get that click first. Online ads necessarily have to be an eye catching distraction that pulls the viewer away from their main focus and grabs their interest for a second or two. Online ads may be smaller in size but they have the not-so-secret weapon of motion. The leaderboard (banner) advert below is a simple animated GIF file advertising an event. |
